SKU Code: 5025JBLET

This watch is modeled after a classic 1950s/1960s military design. It features a box sapphire crystal that replicates the appearance of the original plexiglass crystal. The movement is a sophisticated Ronda R 150 or equivalent, boasting 25 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz). This high-performance movement provides a robust 38-hour power reserve and includes hacking and hand-winding capabilities for added precision and convenience.

Instead of the Tritium used in the 1960s, this watch utilizes Luminova. The advantage of Luminova is that it does not deteriorate with age and is non-radioactive. Although the paint color mimics aged Tritium, the encircled “T” is purely for historical accuracy.

The watch measures 39mm in diameter and is equipped with a steel bracelet designed to resemble those from the 1960s.

Benefits of Sapphire Crystal

Sapphire crystal offers numerous advantages over the original plexiglass. Its exceptional strength and resistance to shattering and scratching make it an ideal choice for those in demanding professions or active lifestyles—groups that constitute over 70% of our customers. Unlike the original plexiglass crystals from the 1960s, which were prone to scratches and cracks and limited water resistance, sapphire crystals are far more durable.

In fact, over 90% of watch accidents resulting in cracked crystals involve watches with mineral glass or plexiglass. Even hardened mineral crystals cannot match sapphire’s durability under harsh conditions. Sapphire crystals are heat-treated to eliminate internal stresses and are coated with two layers of anti-reflective material. Notably, sapphire is now also used in the latest iPhones. Despite its higher cost, sapphire crystal's superior durability justifies its use in higher-end watches.
